Visit Porini Mara Camp
Porini Mara Camp is a non-seasonal safari camp set in Ol Kinyei Conservancy – an 18700 acre wilderness set aside as a wildlife sanctuary with a wide variety of species including big cats. The area has open plains, forests, rivers and stunning views.
This award-winning safari camp is located in a unique and beautiful setting under yellow-barked Acacia trees along the banks of the Laetoli.
The Porini Mara camp contains just five spacious guest tents and one family unit. Porini Mara Camp has an exclusive yet friendly feel, with each tent containing comfortable furnishings and ensuite facilities (with hot shower and flush toilet).

Porini Mara Camp is fully-inclusive of meals, drinks (vodka, gin & tonics, wine, beer, sodas and mineral water) and all activities (including day and night game drives, sundowners and escorted walks). There is also the opportunity to book a Hot Air Balloon Safari. Game drives (shared) are in 4×4 safari vehicles with expert safari guides and you will experience the wilderness without the presence of other tourist vehicles. Safari game drives can also be taken in the adjacent Naboisho Conservancy.
The family unit at Porini Mara Camp is a H shaped tent located about 20 metres from the main areas. The unit is made of high quality canvas, is spacious, each wing measuring 64 square metres and the lounge is 16 square metres. It consists of two rooms with a lounge in between. Had a Great Time
I visited Porini Mara Camp for three nights and had a great time. This was my first visit to Kenya and I booked it through Gamewatchers, which made things extremely easy, especially for a solo traveler. The camp was cute and comfy, the food was good and plentiful, the wine pours were huge, the staff were helpful and friendly - even doing a special birthday celebration with singing and dancing for one of the guests.

Incredible spot for wildlife
Fantastic two night stay at Porini Mara. The staff are lovely and. The guides in particular are real experts. The location within is private conservancy makes for a superb experience, particularly when compared to the main Mara reserve which is heaving with vehicles. We had a private sighting of 8 lionesses, a huge herd of elephants and countless other animals, as well as fantastic cheetah and leopard sightings in the neighbouring conservancy.

A superbly located camp for game viewing
We had great sightings of the big cats and enjoyed seeing some different types of antelope compared to the previous camp, as well as the Maasai giraffe. The vastness of the Mara plains has to be seen to be believed. We also enjoyed a night drive at this camp which gives the opportunity to spot nocturnal animals - amongst other things, we saw a genet. This region offers spectacular spots for sundowners and taking photographs of the amazing sunsets. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

AMAZING CAMP AND SAFARI
One of the best things about this camp was that even though we were in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy we were allowed to go into the Naboisha Conservancy as well. the chance to explore both was huge.

Porini Mara Camp - Beyond our wildest dreams
The staff at Porini Mara Camp and drivers were incredible, they took such great care of our family and accommodated us throughout our stay. The tents were wonderful, loved the bucket showers! We enjoyed incredible meals and evenings around the firepit sharing stories of the day. Our game drivers ere wonderful, getting us up close to so many animals. We are planning to go back to Kenya, adding Tanzania and Uganda in 2026. We will definitely utilize Gamewatchers to plan the trip and will absolutely return to their Porini camps. We fully support their conservancy efforts and recognize the huge support they provide the local Maasai tribes.
