Visit Il Moran Camp

This is a small and luxurious camp for those who want the extra touch of comfort, consisting of ten luxurious tents hidden under the trees, deep in the forest, lining the banks of a winding river. The Il Moran Camp has been purposely kept small with added touches that make it the top of the range safari.

ACCOMMODATION

Each of the spacious tents has its own private location and is furnished to a superior standard. The stunning beds are handmade from specially selected wood taken from ancient olive trees.

Large en-suite bathrooms have flush toilets, a lovely big shower with piping-hot water and a Victorian bath where you can soap the day’s dust away. Every tent has an extended veranda looking out onto the plains.

During the day meals are served under giant trees whilst at night dinner is by candlelight or, if you prefer, on the privacy of your own veranda. There’s a variety of fresh fruits, cereals and hot-baked breads together with a cooked breakfast barbecued before your eyes. For lunch a buffet that’ll satisfy the hungriest appetites. Complimentary wine is served with dinner. Deep in the bush, our cordon-bleu dinners by candlelight are a truly unforgettable Kenya Safari experience. Bush breakfast, lunch & dinner can be organized on request at a supplementary cost.

ACTIVITIES

There’s always excitement in the Mara: If you are lucky on the morning and evening game drives, the sighting of a lion stalking zebra, a herd of elephant heading for the swamps or cheetah cubs playing in the shade are sights you won’t forget. On a closer encounter with nature you may leave your vehicle behind and take a walking safari with one of the camp’s armed-guides for the true excitement of the bush. Down on the same level as the animals you’ll experience the untamed beauty of the Mara.

Birds and butterflies abound, elephants wander through the camp at night as leopards call nearby. Nowhere else can you get so far from civilization, yet stay in such comfort and style. Game viewing around Il Moran remains almost unrivalled anywhere in Africa, at year round.

IL Moran is accessible from the capital city of Nairobi or other safari destinations in the country into the Musiara airstrip, approximately 15 minutes drive from camp.
