Accommodation

Seven spacious double / twin tents, (all can be used as triple tents) and one family tent which can comfortably accommodate 2 adults and up to 4 children. All of our tents are en-suite with flush toilets and safari showers. Kerosene lanterns are situated in front of the tents to provide subtle lighting to the exterior and front.

The main lodge / mess tent has sofas and chairs where all the guests gather before lunch and dinner to talk about their game drives. There are also hammocks and sun-beds on the main lawn for those who needed a break. Lunch is held on the lawn overlooking the river. Dinner is held in the mess tent dinning room. One of the things that is so special about Rekero and sets it apart from other lodges is that the hosts, Claire and Rob and the owners Gerard and Rainie join guests for lunch and dinner.

Activities

Wildlife viewing can be done on foot with experienced Maasai and Il Dorobo guides, or in our custom built 4×4 safari vehicles which allow intimate yet unobtrusive access to the animals. Visits to one of the local villages can be arranged as well as guided walking excursions if pre-arranged in advance in an area just outside the main reserve. Picnics in the bush and sun downers also feature. Trips on a hot air balloon can be arranged at a local lodge at extra cost.

Rekero camp is accessible by air from Nairobi’s Wilson airport using the Ol Kiombo airstrip which is approximately 15 minutes drive from the camp.
