A unique “home away from home” with stunning views across the Mara in the only IUCN Green List Protected area in the Mara eco-system with some of the highest big cat densities and the location of the annual Loita wildebeest calving every year in February and March, with the local community members who know this land intimately as your hosts.
The 4 four-bedroom high-end safari cottages are on a hillside location with spectacular views over the open plains below. There is a large wildlife dam down from the cottages which is a big draw for wildlife including lions and elephants. The cottages are designed to maximize on these views whilst minimizing the visual impact from the plains. Each Cottage has four spacious bedrooms, all with private bathrooms en-suite. A common lounge with a fireplace for the cold evenings and media room for kids to have a place to unwind, remote working, reviewing and editing the days photographers and so much more. The design is open where practical – to ‘fit in’ with the surrounds and ethos of a conservation minded development, giving a closeness to nature but without compromising comfort and functionality.

Tour Experiences
Day 1
10am flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to the Mara. Porini Safari Cottages staff will meet you at the airstrip and transfer you to camp. After lunch take an afternoon game drive in Ol Kinyei Conservancy, stopping at a scenic point for a sundowner. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Day 2
Morning and evening game drives in the conservancy land surrounding the camp. (Or for those guests who wish to have a visit to the Mara Reserve: after an early breakfast drive into the Reserve for the full morning and a picnic lunch in the Reserve returning to camp later in the afternoon. Extra reserve fees to be charged) In the evening, head out for a “Sundowner” within Ol Kinyei Conservancy and then continue back to camp on a night game drive looking for nocturnal animals. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Day 3
Take an early morning walk in the Conservancy escorted by Maasai warriors and return for breakfast. Transfer to the airstrip and fly back to Nairobi (arriving around 12.15pm).
The Safari Cottages can also be combined with one or more of the other Porini Camps as part of a longer safari – see our recommended safaris for itineraries and prices.

Definitely a trip of a lifetime
We stayed at the cottages for 4 nights at the beginning of September. I cannot fault a single thing about our stay. The staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. The celebratory song/dance and they gave us at dinner was very special (it was our anniversary). The rooms were beautiful and had everything we needed. Evans the chef did a great job with the food, there was always plenty of selection and lots of it. Finally our guides, Bill and Eveline, were fantastic. Our Safari experience was immense and surpassed my expectations. I would definitely recommend Porini to anyone thinking about a safari.

The staff are all so friendly and attentive, especially Grace, the rooms are exceptional and the food was top tear even when we had meals out on game drives they were still high standard. The game drives were simply amazing! David and Evelin were the best guides ever. Their knowledge of the animals, birds and flora was incredible and they ensured we had the best experience possible. Thank you for an amazing holiday and would highly recommend!

A big thank you to Chef Samuel for preparing delicious meals and catering to our needs (we were all vegetarians). I definitely recommend this conservancy for the experience especially with kids!
