Manyara - Ngorongoro Safari
This 3 night Safari is a great introduction to Tanzania, highlighting some of Tanzania’s most famous parks and landscapes. It’s a perfect extension to one of our Kenyan safaris.
You will be picked up in Arusha, taken for lunch and then onwards to Lake Manyara National Park famous for its tree-climbing lions. Over night at Kirurumu Tented Lodge, set high on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, enjoying a marvellous and panoramic view eastward over Lake Manyara, the Rift floor and Mt. Losimingori. Behind Kirurumu, the Ngorongoro Highlands rise in green and fertile splendour and form the gateway to Ngorongoro Crater.
Onwards for 2 nights at the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge. Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is perched at the edge of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, a short drive from the Crater descent road and adjacent to Serengeti National Park. The lodge is 180 kilometres and a four-hour drive from Arusha. A day’s safari through this unique conservation area provides you with spectacular and memorable game viewing experiences.

Tour Experiences
Day 1: Arusha – Manyara
Pick up from Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport and drive to Arusha for lunch. Depart Arusha at 1400hrs and drive to Lake Manyara.
Dinner and overnight at the Kirurumu Tented Lodge.
Day 2: Manyara – Ngorongoro
Enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park whose inhabitants include hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions, flamingos and other varieties of birdlife. Lunch at the lodge. Then drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Ngorongoro
Today you will descend 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater for crater tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. Picnic lunches will be served in the crater.
Dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Ngorongoro – Arusha
After breakfast. Drive back to Arusha for lunch.

Hello, I am Sally Wanjau, and I have been travelling to Kenya on safari since the 1980’s which led to me living and working there for several years.
