Located in the North East of Namibia, the Damaraland region is characterised by its rocky and rugged landscapes. The weather here is hot and temperatures can reach over 40 degrees in the summer months, dropping below freezing during the winter nights. Rainfall is sporadic, even during the wetter months.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site at Twyfelfontein is a must see if you are exploring this area, where some of the most ancient and unique rock engravings in the world are located, with the dates thought to be from 1000-10,000 years old.
