Visit Porini Amboseli Camp
This award-winning Kenya safari camp is set in the Amboseli eco-system within the exclusive Selenkay Conservancy– an important wildlife dispersal area for wildlife moving out of Amboseli National Park. The private conservation area ensures the best possible game viewing in proper off-road safari vehicles, off the beaten track and away from other tourist vans and minibuses.
Porini Amboseli Safari Camp is small – with just 10 spacious guest tents – and retains all the charm and feel of the traditional mobile safari camps of days gone by. The tents are tastefully furnished and have solar powered electric lighting with en suite bathrooms including shower, wash basin and flush toilet.
Two of the tents are family units consisting of of two rooms with a lounge in between. Each of the two rooms has a king size bed and a single bed, The high-quality, each family tent is tastefully furnished and has solar-powered lighting, ensuite facilities (with hot shower and flush toilet) and a private veranda. The units are ideal for families or group of friends traveling together and are at the same price per person as our other tents. The camp welcomes children aged 8 years and over (see Prices Information for more details).
The Kenyan safari camp provides an exclusive yet friendly experience with a maximum of 20 guests at a time and it is fully-inclusive of all meals, drinks (wine, vodka, gin & tonics, beer, sodas and mineral water) and activities (including day and night shared game drives, guided walks and sundowners). Safari drives are in specially-designed, open-sided off-road (4×4) safari vehicles with expert safari guides.
For guests staying at Porini Amboseli Camp, we can arrange road transfers from Nairobi to Selenkay Conservancy or we can book return flights from Nairobi to Amboseli airstrip at the applicable air fare. Between 1 July to 31 October & between 20 December to 31 March each year we can book guests on daily flights between Nairobi and Selenkay Conservancy.
Prices FROM $385pp per night full board including beer, house wine, vodka, gin & tonic, soft drinks & mineral water. Park fees, shared game drives in 4x4, night drives, sundowners, escorted walk and Maasai village visit are also included.

DAY BY DAY
Tour Experiences
Day 1
Pickup from Nairobi at 9am and transfer by minibus to Porini Amboseli Camp (a 5 hour journey of 128 miles), arriving at camp before lunch. (NB optional upgrade to fly in, available at a supplement). Following afternoon tea, you will be escorted on a walk by Maasai warriors to a village to get an insight into their fascinating culture and way of life. Then take a game drive in the camp’s open-sided 4×4 safari vehicle into the conservancy, stopping for a sundowner at a scenic spot overlooking Kilimanjaro, followed by a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, serval cats, caracals, bat-eared foxes, African wild cats, and other species. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2
Awake to the noisy calls of the birds. After an early breakfast, we drive through the bush on our private track into Amboseli National Park, for a full morning of game viewing in the camp’s open-sided 4×4 safari vehicle. Following a picnic lunch in the park, we return to camp later in the afternoon. In the evening you will have a sundowner on an observation platform overlooking a waterhole by the camp, where elephants and other animals often come to drink. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 3
Take an early morning game drive in the Conservancy followed by breakfast. Depart for Nairobi – arriving around 1 pm. (Optional flight upgrade at a supplement).
