Leopard Beach Resort & Spa
Situated on palm-fringed coral cliffs overlooking the endless blue horizons of famous Diani Beach, Leopard Beach Resort & Spa is the epitome of Swahili style. This spacious resort has been fully renovated and refurbished in recent years.
The resort has an idyllic location right on the white, sandy shores of Diani Beach surrounded by coral coves nestling in between cliffs covered in flowering vegetation and beautiful tropical gardens. Walking down the two flights of stairs to the beach, a grand, panoramic view of the ocean unfolds.
The resort is 45km from Mombasa Airport (1hr 30 mins by road) or can be accessed from the local Diani airstrip (flights from Nairobi and Masai Mara).

Guests enjoy sumptuous breakfast buffets. Lunch is mostly buffet style while for dinner guests are offered either a buffet or a choice of menu, often accompanied by entertainment with a weekly grill party on the beach and on terraces with stunning views over Diani Beach.
The Half Board plan includes breakfast and lunch or dinner in the main restaurant. A la carte restaurants on this plan are payable locally.
The Half Board Gourmet plan includes breakfast and lunch or dinner in the main restaurant or at one of the a la carte restaurants.
For Standard and Superior Rooms there is an optional upgrade to Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner in the main restaurant) or an optional upgrade to Full Board Plus (Breakfast, Lunch in a choice of a la carte restaurants, Dinner in the main restaurant or the pizzeria and house wine, beer and soft drinks served with lunch and dinner).
The resort’s restaurants include:
- The ‘Horizon Restaurant’ for table d’hote meals and buffets
- “Coco Mchana” offers al fresco a la carte luncheons with its well-known, excellent cuisine and stunning views
- The “Chui Grill” – a Chaine des Rotisseurs establishment – for dining a la carte in the midst of tropical ponds
- A pizzeria on the ocean’s edge
- A bistro with ice-cream and fruit juice bar beside the pool
Please note: the resort has a smart-casual dress code. Guests are not permitted to wear shorts, sleeveless t-shirts, torn or faded denim, flip-flops or caps in Mario’s and Marco’s Bar or for dinner in the Horizon Restaurant and the Chui Grill Room.
Facilities & Activities
The use of sun loungers and beach towels at the pool as well as on the beach is included.
The main pool includes an integrated childrens’ section.
Diani’s meeting point is the resort’s air-conditioned bar ‘Mario’s’ and ‘Marco’s’ an al fresco bar with great views over the Indian Ocean while more resort bars can be found on the beach and near the pool.
‘Leopard’s Lovables’ shop, a business center and a cyber café are all are at the resort guests’ disposal.
Leopard Beach Resort & Spa has one of the best water sports centres offering a S.S.I. PLATINUM /PADI FIVE STAR diving school, diving excursions, windsurf school,Kite surfing; Kayak, Pedalo and Catamaran Hire, deep-sea fishing and glass bottom boat trips (all activities payable locally).
Use of the resort’s tennis courts is free of charge to guests and the courts are floodlit. Also included are volleyball, waterpolo and table tennis matches organised by the resort’s animators as well as walks through a nature trail within the resort’s extensive compound.
An 18-hole golf course (payable locally) is situated within a five-minute walk.
The “UZURI Spa and Fitness Forest” (access and facilities / treatments payable locally) is set in six acres of indigenous forest with a nature trail in the back of the property. It offers massage and beauty treatments and a well equipped fitness center with sauna and steam bath, plus a pool and hot tub. This is an area of tranquility and relaxation to enjoy fresh tropical fruits and healthy snacks and salads.
For their evening entertainment guests are offered a choice of dancing to live bands and folklore performances at the poolside’s Mahogany Lounge and Disco.

Hello, I am Sally Wanjau, and I have been travelling to Kenya on safari since the 1980’s which led to me living and working there for several years.
